  • George Clooney Suffers Broken Hand In Car 'Accident'

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- George Clooney's hand is in a cast, but not due to a motorcycle accident as some outlets have reported. The actor was involved in an accident with a car - specifically, the car door vs. his hand!

    Despite various online reports out of Europe claiming the actor broke his hand while riding his Harley Davidson around Lake Lugano, near the border of Italy and Switzerland, the actor's rep told Access Hollywood what really happened to the star's hand.

    "There was an accident and he did break his hand," Clooney's rep, Stan Rosenfield, told Access. "He was not riding a motorcycle, it was not in Switzerland... He was on his property in Italy and he shut the car door on his hand."

    Clooney was treated at the private Ars Medica clinic in Gravesano, Switzerland, located near his Lake Como, Italy home.

    "The doctor has given him 30-40 years more to live, and no live animals were harmed during the wrapping of the hand," Clooney's rep joked, "The only reason he went to the hospital was to get a temporary cast put on."

    This is not Clooney's first road bump. In 2007, the actor and then-girlfriend Sarah Larson collided with a car while riding his motorcycle in New Jersey. The actor suffered a hairline fracture on one of his ribs along with some scrapes and bruises. Larson broke her foot during the accident. Read more

    In Big Fan, comedian Patton Oswalt plays a huge New York Giants fan. The problem is, he doesn't exactly root for a team on Sunday in real life. So in his exclusive chat with PopEater, he summed up how he got into character: "Basically I had to draw on my geeky love for comics. It's the same spark, just different fuel."

    Big Fan has been riding a wave of buzz since its Sundance Film Festival debut - even drawing implications of a Golden Globe or Oscar nod. "I honestly don't know what to do when you're nominated. I'm assuming they send a car for you, and you go to some parties.

    "I'd be really happy if the movie got nominated... It would be good to see that happen knowing how hard Robert [Siegel] worked on this film."


    But playing a New York Giants fanatic isn't the only thing Patton is up to. "I just signed on as a regular to 'Caprica,' which is a prequel to 'Battlestar Galactica.' I'm also a regular on 'United States of Tara' and have a pretty good role in 'The Informant,' a movie Steven Soderbergh directed. In the meantime, I'll be finishing up my book, and hopefully it will come out next spring... I don't know what it is going to be about yet. It's all random essays, but I might tie it into a narrative. I haven't decided yet. We'll have to wait and see."

    After spending a few days shooting an episode of Supernatural in Vancouver, Paris Hilton landed at LAX this afternoon, and we're 99% sure that she was on the phone with Doug when we snapped her breezing through the airport!

  • Britney Spears Single Again?

    Britney Spears has called off her romance with her longtime agent Jason Trawick, according to a new report.

    The singer is said to have asked Trawick for some time for herself after the couple's relationship began to turn serious as he accompanied the pop star on her Circus world tour.

    Spears was even rumored to have been engaged to Trawick earlier this month after she was photographed with a sparkling ring on her wedding finger - but the 27 year old has now taken a break from their love affair, reports OKmagazine.com.

    One source tells the website, "They are taking some time apart," while another adds, "She told him she needed to get back on her own two feet before moving forward. Jason was disappointed, but he understood."

    Trawick was spotted entertaining a group of female admirers during a night out in Hollywood last weekend as Spears prepared to perform three consecutive concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden.

    But the insider suggests it might not be the end for the couple, adding, "Jason's always loved her, (even) since the Justin Timberlake days, so he won't let her go easily. He's giving her space - that's what she's asked for." Read more
